Joe Marta (b. 2001) is an up and coming composer focusing on band, choral, and chamber music. In 2019, he was a state finalist in the NJMEA Young Composers Competition for his piece Soar!, and in 2021 was a national finalist for his piece Derinkuyu in the American Prize Band/Wind Ensemble Division. His music has been performed by groups such as the Mana Quartet, Rutgers University Brass Band, Raritan Wind Symphony, Rutgers University Trumpet Ensemble, and the Rutgers University Concert Band.

In addition to his compositional endeavors, he is also an avid performer. He has been placed as the Principal trumpet for the Rutgers University Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Cornet for the Rutgers University Brass Band. In addition, he is a member of the Rutgers University Trumpet Ensemble, Trombone Choir, and marches sousaphone with the Marching Scarlet Knights.
He has studied composition with Dr. Melissa Dunphy and Dr. Scott Ordway, as well as trumpet with Professor Kenny DeCarlo and Mark Hughes at Mason Gross School of the Arts.
